Emanuela Trovato
Dr. Emanuela Trovato is Assistant Professor in Analytical Chemistry (S.S.D. CHIM/01) at the Department of Chemical, Biological, Pharmaceutical and Environmental Science of University of Messina since January 2022. She graduated in Chemistry in 2006, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Messina. From 2011 till 2014 she attended the Ph.D. program, receiving Ph.D. in Chemical Science at University of Messina on the 04th of April 2014.
In 2017 she was one of the winners of the PhD ITalents Project for encourage the inclusion of PhD students in Enterprises.  Since 2017 she has carried out her research activity at Chromaleont s.r.l., a spin-off of the University of Messina, participating in different research projects as coordinator of research unit and participant (PhD ITalents Project , PON Research and Innovation 2014-2020). Her research interests mainly concerns the application of headspace techniques  (Solid phase microextraction, Thermal desorption, Static head space) for the extraction of volatile compounds, combined with chromatographic analytical techniques for the analysis and characterization of complex matrices in different research area, as foods, essential oils, lipids, biological fluids etc. She is involved in other field of research as gas chromatographic separation of enantiomers of volatiles, sensory evaluation and GC sniffing, High pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) and Statistical elaboration of chromatographic results.
She is a member of the Editorial Board of an International âopen accessâ Journal and referee in various International Journals related to analytical chemistry and food science. Dr. Trovato is author of 22 publications in International Journals, 3 book chapters and various contributions in national and international symposia.
